Baga Beach

Baga a seaside town in Bardez, Goa, India. It comes under the jurisdiction of Calangute, which is 2 km (1 mi) south. Baga is known for its popular beach, Baga Beach with it's brown sands, and beautiful creek, the Baga Creek. It is visited by thousands of tourists annually. Baga Beach is a popular beach and tourist destination in North Goa, located a few kilometers north from the famous and crowded Calangute beach. The beach contains rows of shacks and fishing boats.

Calangute Beach

Flea Market

Originally known to be a hippy market, the Anjuna Flea market today is famous shopping place in Goa. Held on every Wednesday, this market came to existence in the 1980's and has been a favored shopping arena since then. Tourists can buy junk jewelery, electronic goods, handicrafts, paintings, Balinese batik, mirror-worked waistcoats and trendy wrap arounds.This flea market is flooded by hawkers from all over the country selling a variety of articles. Open from 10:30 in the morning till 6:30 in the evening, the flea market is held at Dando Vaddo, a little south of Anjuna beach. The Anjuna Flea Market is held during the months from October.

Saturday Night Market

This market is a popular hang out place in Goa. Held on the grounds of Arpora, tourists here can buy huge varieties of products like hand-made leather sandals, magic crystal wands, beautiful jewelry and many other artifacts. Popular among the tourists here ,is the Taro card readers and fortune tellers (Rs 150 to 500). This is also the place where the local bands jam up giving the entire market a very good character with lots of entertainment Tourists can also enjoy Goan, Greek and Thai cuisine in this market. Jugglers, local musicians, comedians, belly dancers and budding talents are some of the attractions that keep the shoppers entertained. The market is open from 6 in the evening till 1 in the morning and is held only from the months of November till March.

Old Goa

Once the magnificent Portuguese capital of Goa India, these days all that remains of Old Goa is a handful of imposing churches and cathedrals. They are amongst the largest in Asia though. Some of the buildings have now become archeological museums, and provide a fascinating display of Goa's history. One of the most interesting buildings in Old Goa is the Convent and Church of Saint Francis of Assisi, built in 1521. Just opposite is the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which contains the preserved remains of the body of Saint Frances Xavier, a revered missionary and the patron saint of Goa.

Water falls

Dudhsagar is one of the world's most exquisite falls that lies in India.The falls lie high up in the Mandovi River's watershed and so are not particularly spectacular during the dry season. During the monsoon season however, the falls are transformed into one of the most powerful falls in India. Dudhsagar Falls is listed as India's 5th tallest waterfall,and is 227th in the world at 310 m. The water plummets hundreds of feet in large volumes during the monsoon season, forming one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in Goa. Its were the young come out to party as there are a variety of clubs, pubs and restaurants. For a more psychedelic trance feel you need to go further north to the parties of Anjuna and Vagatore just 15 mins away.Club Cubanna one of Goas best clubs is located just 4km away from Little India and is a must go to club for anyone wanting to experience the nightlife.

Canyoning in Goa (November to March)

If you are an adrenoline junkie the Ghats of Goa are abundant with natural fresh waters streaming down the mountains, if your not dangling from a rope within the waterfall then you will be free falling 15 to 20 mtrs into a fresh water pool. You trek through lush jungel till you reach the river where you begin your decend. If your lucky you will come across goas wildlife in its natural habitat. White Water Rafting (June to September)

An area where the sheer open face of the Western Ghats is exposed to the full might of the South West Monsoon and the valleys below drain the highest rainfall in Goa. This drainage system, a complicated zig zagging of valleys with a stunning cover of dripping evergreen forest forms the escape for the outpouring of water that is the Mahdei River System. The major ones are Mollem National Park and Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary. They are harder to reach than Bondla, the smallest and most accessible sanctuary in Goa, though. As well as nature trails, Bondla has a mini zoo and deer safari park, which is great for kids.
